This program is recognized by the Department of Public Health and equips students to take the state certification exam.
Requirements / Prerequisites
- Submit a completed NCTI application
- Provide a CNA application to the Health Sciences Department along with a valid photo ID and Social Security Card
- Must have no criminal convictions
- Complete drug and alcohol screening
- Provide immunization records and a current TB test
- Undergo a physical exam confirming good health
- Hold a current CPR certification

Core Responsibilities of a CNA
As a CNA, you will learn how to:
- Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Measure and document food and fluid intake and output.
- Observe patient conditions and report changes to supervising nurses.
- Assist with personal hygiene, including bathing and dressing.
- Serve meals and help patients who require feeding support.
- Assist patients with mobility, including walking, wheelchair support, and therapeutic activities.
